Bayside Room Watch ("we") is operated by Aaron Chanthavong in Japan. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Your watch preferences: hotels, dates, number of guests and rooms.
- Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address, used only for abuse rate-limiting and deleted within 24 hours. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs.
Why
Only to send the confirmation email you requested and alerts for the watches you confirmed. We do not sell or rent your data and do not send marketing email.
Processors
- Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and database)
- Resend (email delivery)
- Rakuten Group, Inc. (we send it your search criteria, such as dates, guests and hotels, but never your email)
Data may be processed outside Japan, including in the United States.
Retention
Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 7 days. Watches end after the check-in date. Stopped and expired watches may be kept up to 90 days and are then deleted. You can stop alerts anytime from the "Manage" link in any email. For full deletion, email us.
Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal information under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (and the GDPR where it applies) by emailing aaron@gaijindev.com.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Booking sites you open from our links (e.g. Rakuten Travel) set their own cookies, including affiliate tracking cookies, under their own policies.
